Ice skating can be a great way to enjoy the winter season. Ice skating is a popular winter activity with both children and adults. What a great way to spend a chilly morning or afternoon! Some of our students with experience in ice skating enjoyed the activity, gliding gracefully on the ice; but our Physical Education and Sport teacher helped those students with no prior experience to get a hang of this sport. Thanks to its successful application, after 2 subsequent short term, one-year long projects at AVICENNA International College now we have won with our long-term, i.e., 5-year ERASMUS Project Plan, which is all about internationalization, participation in the EU high school education system, meaning fuller integration and involvement. In addition, AVICENNA immediately became a prominent ERASMUS accredited school in Hungary by being the 3rd best out of 8 applicants from Budapest, while it was ranked 9th out of a list of 30 national applications. The students of the Foundation Program at Avicenna International College had the opportunity to participate in a retake session for their semi-final exams last week. The session was open to students who were absent during the original exam period, as well as those who wanted to improve their grades. The school administration would like to congratulate all students who participated and wish them the best of luck as they continue their academic journey. 10 Italian students accompanied by their three teachers from the Sigismondi High School in Nocera Umbra (Umbria region) joined AIC for 10 days in the framework of an Erasmus grant supported EU student mobility for the purposes of scholastic and cultural exchange between EU high schools. Our Italian guests arrived on 7 December and were picked up at the Ferihegy International Airport to be taken directly to Cinkota Residence. On the 11th of November 2022, G11 visited the famous Fiume Graveyard. This extracurricular program was organized by their history teacher, Márk Máté, with the goal of providing AIC students the opportunity to expand their knowledge on the historical era and the people being discussed in school. The program was centered around the stories, tombs and mausoleums of Hungarian intellectuals, politicians and army officers who took an active role in the Reform Era and the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848-49. On the 24th of November, AIC students visited Gül Baba's tomb in the Buda district of Rózsadomb. Gül Baba (born in Merzifon, present-day Turkey) was a Dervish member of the Ottoman empire in Buda, who died in 1541. This beautiful türbe (meaning tomb in Turkish) is the northernmost Islamic pilgrimage site in the world and is regarded as a significant part of Hungary's historical heritage as it was left unharmed during the Habsburg invasion and the consequent World Wars.

The promenade (prom) dance night of AIC seniors coupled with the ribbon ceremony (’Szalagavató’ in Hungarian, ribbon graduation) was held on the 17th of November (Thursday), for the second time in the Ferencváros Cultural Center and Theater. During the ceremony, the Principal of Avicenna High School (Mr. Steve Szabó) gave a welcome speech to open the event highlighting the vast number of international students in the graduating year.
